Facilities The Fiber Division of Sloss Industries Corporation operates production facilities in Birmingham, Alabama. With five coke-fired cupolas under one roof, the Birmingham slag wool plant is the largest facility of its kind anywhere in the world. Product lines manufactured in Birmingham consist of bulk slag wool fiber, loose fill slag wool fiber, and all processed varieties of PMF® Fiber. In addition to manufacturing operations, the Birmingham facility also houses the Fiber Division's product development department.
